Shirley A. Newhouse, age 88, of Osage, Iowa, died Saturday, December 21, 2019, at MercyOne North Iowa Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday January 2, 2020, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle officiating. There will be a luncheon and time to greet the family at the Osage American Legion Post, 504 Main Street, following the Memorial Services. Inurnment will be held at a later date in the Osage Cemetery.
Shirley was born on December 22, 1930, in Missouri, the daughter of James and Evelyn (Haberkorn) Taylor. She was married to Joseph Clinton Kisner and to this union seven children were born. In 1977, she married William Newhouse. Shirley worked for many years at Fox River Mills in Osage, until her retirement in 1996. She enjoyed wintering in Texas, with William for several years, knitting, fishing, listening to music, flowers and gardening. Shirley’s greatest joy was spending time with her family.
Shirley is survived by her five sons, Rick (Darlene) Kisner of North Carolina, David (Deborah) Kisner of Arizona, Brad Kisner of Cresco, Tracy (Kiersten) Kisner of Osage and Korey Kisner of Minnesota; five step-children, Leslie (Donette) Newhouse of Wisconsin, Carol Newhouse of Minnesota, Steve (Kimberly) Newhouse of Johnston, Diane (Mike) Wolf of Montana, and Jerry (Ranae) Newhouse of Minnesota; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; two sisters, Darlene (Homer) Anderson of California and Delores Olson of Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; step-father, Leonard Baldwin; daughter, LuAnne Fullard; son, Craig Kisner; sister, Dorothy Harris and brother, Larry Taylor.
