Allen Hauge, age 91, of Osage, Iowa, passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2019, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.

Memorial Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, April 19, 2019, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Cindy S. Krause officiating. Visitation with family will precede the service at 9:30 in the narthex. Following services, there will be a time to greet the family and have lunch and fellowship at the church. Inurnment will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 20, 2019, at the Riverside Cemetery in Jackson, Minnesota.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Our Savior’s Lutheran Church and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Allen was born January 6, 1928, in Alpha, Minnesota, the son of Nels and Hazel (Olhausen) Hauge. He was an Eagle Scout and graduated from high school in Jackson, Minnesota, in 1946. Allen attended St. Olaf College for two years, then served as a Naval Aviator during the Korean War until 1951. Upon return, Allen completed his engineering degree at the University of Minnesota. Allen met his beloved wife, Delores Fransen, while at the University of Minnesota and they were married on August 15, 1953.

Allen and Delores moved to Ames, Iowa, where he worked as an engineer for Structural Clay Products. Two years later, they moved to Rockford, Iowa, where Allen was an engineer for Rockford Brick and Tile for 13 years. Since 1968, Allen and Delores have resided in Osage, where Allen worked in farm management and real estate.

Allen’s pride and joy was his family; he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a lifelong avid pilot. Allen also enjoyed reading, playing piano and organ, golfing, fishing in Canada, traveling, and spending winters in Arizona with Delores. Allen was an active member of Our Savior’s Lutheran Church, Rotary Club and Sister City.

Those left to cherish his memory, are his wife of 65 years, Delores; daughters, Debra (Daniel) Skaar, Kathy (Richard) Rinehart, Karen (Thom) Ash; son, Mark (Ana) Hauge; grandchildren, Megan Skaar, Rachel Rinehart, Sarah Rinehart, Melanie (Tyler) Baker, Matthew Adrian, Brian Adrian, Lucas Hauge and Lillian Hauge; sisters, Marjorie Tobola and Rebecca (Lorin) Epp.

Allen was preceded in death by his parents.
