Michael “Mike” Gunsallus, age 59, of Osage, Iowa, died Friday, February 22, 2019, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 28, 2019, at Rock Creek Lutheran Church, 3269 Foothill Avenue, Osage, with Pastor David A. Werges and Deacon Elayne J. Werges officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Michael was born May 22, 1959, in Osage, Iowa, the son of James and Phyllis (Larson) Gunsallus. He graduated from Osage High School in 1977, and was a graduate of a two-year mechanical technical school in Wichita, Kansas. Mike had worked at Co-op Oil in Osage, and was most recently a truck driver, until retiring due to health issues. He was a member of the Minneapolis Moline Club, and collected tractors.

Mike is survived by his fiancée, Beth Weaverling of Osage; his father, James Gunsallus of Osage; sister, Venita (Denis) Chezik of Osage; several nieces and nephews; and other extended family members.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Phyllis Gunsallus in 2017; and brother, Kevin Gunsallus in 2012.
