Twila Aileen (Cooper) Kroneman, 91, of St. Ansgar died Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar. Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township, Mitchell County, with Rev. David Werges officiating. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Burial will be at St. John's Cemetery in Rock Township, Mitchell County.
Twila was born on July 18, 1927, to Howard & Eliza Cooper at Little Cedar, Iowa, Liberty Township, Mitchell County, Iowa. Twila was baptized on April 2, 1944 at the Methodist Church, Osage, Iowa.
She graduated from Osage High School on May 29, 1944 and was confirmed on July 27, 1952 at St. John's Lutheran Church, Rock Township. Twila's confirmation verse was Psalm 37.5: Commit everything you do to the Lord. Trust him to help you do it and he will. Twila worked at Damon's in Mason City, candled eggs at a factory in Osage and worked on a cabbage farm by Grafton.
Twila loved to dance and met George Kroneman at a dance at the Avalon Ballroom in Manly, Iowa. They were married on April 20, 1952 at the St. Paul Church in Manly, Iowa.
Twila loved to cook & bake and loved being around family. She especially enjoyed decorating for the holidays. Twila's hobbies were her love of outside and her flower gardens. Her green thumb was evident in all she did. George & Twila enjoyed many bus trips to Alaska, San Francisco, Florida, Colorado, and Nova Scotia during their retirement. They loved dancing at the Surf, Terp and at many other small town dances.
Twila was a full time farm wife and mother of Carla Benson (her friend Bob Grimes) Eagan, MN; Chloe Ann Stumo (Scott) Northwood, IA; Cheryl Ginder (Jerry) Mason City, IA; and Caren Bartz (Curt) Grafton, IA.
Her grandchildren are: Jessica Beyer, Brian Ginder (Keri); Kevin Ginder, Courtney Bartz, Caylee Bartz, and Jamie Stumo. Her great-grandchild, Rory Ginder; step great-grandchildren, Kelsey Holm and Blazer Blake. Twila is survived by three brothers and one sister.
Twila was preceded in death by her husband George in 1998; her parents; two brothers; two sisters; and several brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.
