Thompson, Iowa - A funeral service for Alice C. (Hestness) Gould will be held Monday at 1:30 PM at Oakcrest Funeral Services Winter Chapel in Buffalo Center with Pastor Wayne Halvorson officiating.
Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery in Thompson. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday.
Alice died Friday, January 18, 2019, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Center in Osage at the age of 99.

Alice Clara Olson was born December 28, 1919, on the family farm in Winnebago County, Iowa, daughter of Andrew R. and Hannah M. (Christopherson) Olson. She grew up near Thompson being baptized at the Zion Lutheran Parsonage on January 27, 1920, and confirmed in 1935. Alice was married to Ralph Hestness on December 28, 1939, in Mason City. They were parents to one daughter, Lorene.
Alice was a lifelong faithful member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thompson. She enjoyed her family and looked forward to holiday gatherings and special times with them. In later years she worked for Elderbridge Agency on Aging of Mason City for 10 years where she very much enjoyed the relationships made while working. Ralph preceded her in death on February 11, 1980. Alice was married to Virgil Gould for a short time, until his death on June 27, 1987.
Alice became a resident of the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Center in Osage, Iowa, in August of 2006. She died there on Friday, January 18, 2019 at the age of 99.
She is survived by her daughter, Lorene Vrieze and her husband Calvin of Ionia; three grandchildren, Tammy Vrieze of Ionia, Kent Vrieze and his wife Connie of Floyd, and Todd Vrieze and his wife Jessie of Plainfield; six great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband's Ralph and Virgil; four brothers; and four sisters.
