David McIlravy, for forty years an esteemed resident of Riceville, passed away at his home in that city on Saturday, March 17th, aged 69 years, the result of a stroke of cerebral apoplexy. He and his wife arrived in Riceville in 1864, and has resided there continually since. Mr. McIlravy was a contractor and builder and it is said that 85 per cent of the residences of Riceville are products in whole or part of his hands. Six of ten children survive the deceased.
