Sign GuestbookSue “Grandma Sue” Schwab, age 73, of Osage, passed away Wednesday, August 8, 2018, at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 14, 2018, at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven, Iowa, with Father Jerry Kopacek officiating. Burial will be at St. Peter’s Catholic Cemetery in New Haven. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage with a time for sharing by the family and the public at 7:00 p.m.
Susan Ann Schwab was born October 24, 1944, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter Robert and Vivian “Vee” (Brunner) Mork. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in New Haven in 1962. On November 28, 1964, Sue married Phil Schwab at St. Peter’s Catholic Church in New Haven. To this union, four children were born.
She was employed in the cardiac unit at St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester, was a physical therapy assistant at Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, and for many years worked as an inspector at Fox River Mills.
She was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Osage. Sue loved her family dearly, and took a great interest in whatever her kids and grandkids were in to. She was a very generous person and loved to share food with others. Sue enjoyed music, dancing, wrestling, lottery tickets, going to the casino, and Pepsi. She was a huge fan of Serena Williams and “Dancing with the Stars”, with Derek Hough being her favorite.
Sue is survived by her son, Michael (Kate) Schwab of Waverly and children, Jacob, Morgan and Andrew; her son, Mark (Penny) Schwab of Waverly and children, Khyle, Karlie and Kelsie; her daughter, Julie Schwab of Osage and children, McKenzy, Avery and Fischer; her son, Doug (Allyson) Schwab of Cedar Falls and children, Hayden, Hendrix, Jenna and Lennon; sister, Nadine Mork of New Haven; brother, Gary (Marilyn) Mork of Mitchell; and Paul Schwab of Osage.
She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Robert Mork; and Phil Schwab.
