Austin Allan Rogers, age 65, of Osage Iowa, died Thursday, July 19, 2018 at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage.
Cremation has taken place.
Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 24, 2018, at the Osage Alliance Church with Pastor Jim Stern officiating. Inurnment will be held at a later date. A gathering of family and friends will be held Monday, July 23, 2018, from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
Austin was born April 7, 1953, in Osage, Iowa, the only child of George “Al” and Helen (Green) Rogers. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Osage thru the eighth grade the attended and graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1971.
Austin then attended Northeast Iowa Community College graduating in 1973. Austin married Faith Moore on May 14, 1983 at Osage Christian and Alliance Church. He worked for Grain Millers of North Iowa in St. Ansgar for 29 years. Austin was a member of International Association of Operative Millers. He was a member of Osage Alliance Church where he was Worship Ministry Leader.
Music was a priority in his life, he taught guitar lessons for 15 years. Austin enjoyed mission work traveling to Mexico, El Salvador and Turkey. He enjoyed working with the youth at church where he was Awana leader and youth group sponsor for the past 25 years. Austin was a member of the Mitchell County Conservation Club.
Austin is survived by his wife, Faith Rogers of Osage; his parents, George and Helen Rogers of Osage;his children, Shannon (Jim) Nielsen of Britt and their children, Mark, Jonah, Faith and Eden, Jennifer Barber of Nashua, Adalissa Fausnaugh and fiancée Matt Kitner of Clear Lake and their children, Hunter, Logan, Peyton, Carter and Olivia.
He was preceded in death by his daughter Jennifer Leigh Rogers; his grandparents; and son-in-law, Rick Barber.
