Northwood, Iowa – Irma Arlene Perkins died June 5, 2018 at the Lutheran Retirement Home in Northwood, IA. Funeral Services will be Saturday, June 9, at the Deer Creek Lutheran Church in Carpenter, at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Visitation will be Friday, June 8, 2018 at Schroeder and Sites Funeral Home in Northwood from 4 – 7 p.m. Burial will be at Sunset Rest Cemetery in Northwood.

Irma was born in Freeborn County, Minnesota, on January 21, 1924 the daughter of Charles (Pat) & Evelyn Seuser. She received her education in Gordonsville, MN graduating in 1941. She then attended school in Cedar Falls for teaching. She married Lloyd (Jack) Perkins on November 22, 1944 at the First Lutheran Church in Glenville, MN to which two sons were born. She then taught several years at Worth County Rural School and in Carpenter. After teaching she worked alongside Jack on the farm.

Irma was well known for her spunky attitude and her ability to live each day to its fullest. She taught Sunday School for many years at Deer Creek Lutheran Church in Carpenter. Irma spent countless hours preparing and working in the Deer Creek food stand which her and Jack oversaw for 34 years.

Irma enjoyed softball, playing cards, golf, traveling with many winters spent in Texas, spending time with family and friends, among other activities. She also spent a lot of time volunteering and was involved in many clubs around the Northwood area. She was loved by many for her quick wit and loving personality.

She is survived by her two sons Larry (Butch) & Stephanie Perkins (Northwood) and David Perkins (West Des Moines). Her grandchildren Gina (Jeremy) Solberg, Heather (Tory) Rheingans and Landon (Jess) Perkins and five great grandchildren Kenly Solberg, Mallory and Camryn Rheingans, and Brianna and Lawson Perkins. Special family member Pam Perkins. Sisters Margaret (Lyle) Krumm, Lillian Loland and Ardis Hanson. Sister-in-law Dorothy Perkins and many nieces, nephews, cousins and Friends.

She is preceded in death by her husband Jack in 2007. She is also preceded by her parents along with brother-in-laws Stan Loland and Allan Hanson.
