Bonna Lou (Bonnie) Geffert

March 25, 1933 - April 18, 2018

St. Ansgar, Iowa- Bonna Lou (Bonnie) Geffert, 85, of St. Ansgar, died on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at Hospice of North Iowa, Mason City, Iowa. Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 23, 2018 at 10:30 AM at St. Peter Lutheran Church, Toeterville, Iowa, with Rev. Lance Kittleson officiating. Burial will be in St. Peter Cemetery, Toeterville. Visitation is scheduled for Sunday from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar, and one hour prior to service at the church.

Bonnie was born on March 25, 1933 in Austin, Minnesota to Glenn and Bernice (Downs) Yocom. She was baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Austin, Minnesota. She graduated from Austin High School in 1952.

Bonnie married Arleigh Paul Geffert on June 12, 1954. They farmed a mile east of Toeterville until 1989, when they moved to Rogers, Arkansas. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church until 1989 and then a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Rogers.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Arleigh; parents; grandson, Nathan Geffert; son-in-law, John Bierbrodt; brothers, Robert (Red) Yocom and Charles (Chuck) Yocom; sister, Barbara Olson.

Bonnie is survived by four children; Shelley (Jeff Buseman) Allison of Rockford, Ia., Vicki (Gary) Miller of Rogers, Ar., Terry Geffert of St. Ansgar and Brian Geffert of St. Vincent, Mn.; foster daughter, Peggy (Barry) Martin of Titusville, Fl.; 8 granchildren; 13 great grandchildren.
