July 10, 1939 - April 11, 2018
OSAGE, IOWA - Carol Ann Wells, age 78, of Osage, died Wednesday, April 11, 2018, at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 16, 2018, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage with Pastor Julie Schubert officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery. Visitation is from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday at the church. There will be a time for lunch and fellowship immediately following the burial in the church hall.
Carol was born July 10, 1939, in Albert Lea, Minnesota, the daughter of Curtis and Dorothy (Emstad) Wedge. In 1957, she graduated from Hampton High School in Hampton, Iowa. Carol married Harold Huisman in December 1957, and to this union six children were born. They later divorced. She married Jim Wells in December 1984; Jim died October 29, 2006. Carol worked as a CNA and as a Rehabilitation Aide for 31 plus years at the Faith Lutheran Home in Osage.
Carol is survived by her four children, Deb (Greg) Foster of Montana, Mike Huisman of St. Ansgar, John (Vanessa) Huisman of Osage, and Paul (Darlyne) Huisman of St. Ansgar; four step-children, Jeff, Jay, Jim and John Wells; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Vicky (Ken) Morrow of Colorado; and nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two infant sons, Donald and David; husband, Jim; and infant granddaughter, Samantha Huisman.
