Theresa Ann (Carmody) Grein, age 58, of Osage, Iowa, died Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Muse Norris Hospice Inpatient Unit in Mason City, Iowa.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, April 12, 2018, at Sacred Heart Parish Hall in Osage with Father Raymond Burkle presiding. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Theresa was born December 1, 1959, at Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Bobby and Alberta (Johnson) Carmody. She graduated from Osage High School in 1978. Theresa married Michael North; to this union two sons were born, Jon and Justin. They later divorced. On July 20, 2002, she married Larry Grein at St. John’s Lutheran Church, south of Osage. Theresa was employed as an area supervisor at Casey’s General Stores. She loved spending time with family, and especially enjoyed taking care of and spoiling her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. Theresa also enjoyed gardening, taking care of her granddogs, and organizing family vacations and holidays. Most of all, she enjoyed time spent taking care of her mother.

Theresa is survived by her husband, Larry Grein of Osage; her sons, Jon North (Arien Rodemaker) and Justin North (Alexandra Johnson), all of Osage; an expected granddaughter, Braelynn North; her mother, Alberta M. (Robert) Toton of Osage; siblings, Bob (Debra) Carmody of Britt, Kathleen (Dave) Sgarbossa of Plymouth, Daniel (Margaret) Carmody of Charles City, and Debra Shindelar of Osage; many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and other extended family members.

She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Marvin Carmody; nephew, Jeffrey Lynn Obermeier; grandparents and great-grandparents.
