Died: January 29, 2018

LaVern Marold Kollman, 83, of Osage, died Monday, January 29, 2018 at the Osage Rehabilitation and Health Care Center in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 2, 2018, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage with Rev. Cindy S. Krause officiating. Burial will be at the Osage Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday before the service at the church. The family suggests memorials be given to the Osage Education Foundation or Our Savior’s Lutheran Church Love Angels.

LaVern was born May 4, 1934, in Osage, the son of Edward and Katherine (Popp) Kollman. He graduated from Osage High School in 1952. He worked for Kollman Quarries for his entire career, owning the business after his father retired. He enjoyed his job, fishing, music, and bird watching, and he was known for his quick wit. LaVern was united in marriage to Kathleen Klemesrud on March 20, 1955, at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Osage. Kathleen passed away in 2010.

LaVern is survived by his daughter, Diane (David) Jennings of Osage; two grandsons, Ethan (Leah) Jennings of Cedar Falls and Eric (fiancée Danielle Rockwell) Jennings of Eau Claire, Wisconsin; one great-grandson, Isaiah Jennings of Cedar Falls; a sister, Patricia Gribble of California; two brothers-in-law, Gary (Linda) Klemesrud of Iowa Falls and Richard (Terry) Klemesrud of Champlin, Minnesota; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, and brother Ronald.
