Geraldine Marie Wodke, age 68, of Osage, died Monday, January 1, 2018, at Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage. Cremation has taken place.
A gathering of family and friends to celebrate Geraldine’s life will be held from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018, at Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage, Iowa. Inurnment will be at a later date in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin, Minnesota.
Geraldine was born May 9, 1949, in Osage, Iowa, the daughter of George and Millie (Barnett) Rohde. She graduated from St. Ansgar High School in 1968. Geraldine worked as a CNA for many years, most recently at Faith Lutheran Home before retiring in 2010. She enjoyed her grandchildren, drinking coffee and eating sweet rolls, going gambling, doing word puzzles and spending time with her dog, Herbie.
Geraldine is survived by her daughter, Angela (Brian) Hickle of Osage; her son, David (Truda) Wodke of Cedar Rapids; grandchildren: Jessica Hickle of Mason City, Bryce Hickle of Iowa City and Trey Wodke of Cedar Rapids; siblings, Reta Rohde of Austin, Minnesota, Olven Rohde of Osage, Rosella (Richard) Hagelund of St. Ansgar and Duane Rohde of Mapleview, Minnesota; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Scott Wodke; a granddaughter, Taylor Wodke; and seven brothers and one sister.
