Edward Albert Beyer

April 12, 1937 - November 13, 2017

MANLY, IOWA - Edward Albert Beyer, 80, died on Monday, November 13, 2017, at the Manly Care Center. Private graveside services will be at a later date. Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home of St. Ansgar is in charge of arrangements.

Edward was born on April 12, 1937, in Osage, Iowa, the son of Joseph and Mary (Crooks) Beyer. He attended country school and St. Ansgar Community School. Edward was proud to have served in the U.S. Army and National Guard for six years, earning sharpshooter awards.

Ed and his son, John, had Beyer Construction for many years. Ed loved the outdoors, with hobbies including hunting, especially coyote and deer, as well as fishing. He was featured in Fur, Fish & Game magazine and others in the 70's. Ed was a member of the Moose Lodge for many years.

Ed is survived by long time companion, Carol Callow of Manly; a son, John (Ann) Beyer of St. Ansgar; a daughter, Lisa Cheney of Mason City, Iowa; four granddaughters, Tara Barnes, Tanya Beyer, Desiree Lavey and Brook Frentz; three great-grandchildren, Dakarri Whitmer, Ruby Mora and Alana Barnes; seven sisters and four brothers; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Ed was preceded in death by his parents, one sister and one brother.
