James Castle, age 71, of Osage, Iowa, and formerly of Minneapolis, Minnesota, died Friday, August 4, 2017, at his home. Cremation has taken place.
There will be a Celebration of Life Gathering from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. Sunday August 13, 2017, at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.
James was born September 16, 1945, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the son of Dudley and Anna (Johnson) Castle. He attended Excelsior High School in Excelsior, Minnesota and then went onto Mankato State, where he obtained his Associate Arts Degree. James started working as a cable technician for Northwestern Bell in Minneapolis. After 32 years, he retired as a cable specialist in technology, from Qwest. James was united in marriage to Gretchen Tusler on April 5, 1998.
They moved to Osage in 2002. Most recently he was employed as a lifeguard at the CRC in Osage. James loved his horses, dogs, and cats. He enjoyed chain sawing, being outdoors, working on or fixing projects, scuba diving, and since the age of 16 riding his motorcycles. James cherished most of all, spending time with his family.
James is survived by his wife, Gretchen Tusler Castle of Osage; daughter, Tracy (Jon) Coval and daughters Sarah and Abigail all of Minneapolis, Minnesota; son, Brian (Regina) Castle and sons Levi, Elijah, Zebadiah and Alexander all of Minneapolis, Minnesota; brother, Richard Castle of Watertown, Massachusetts.
James was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Sally.
