Tuesday March 21, 2017 2:30pmCheryl Rae (Kramer) Ham, 59, Gallatin, Tennessee, peacefully passed from this life on March 17, 2017, following a courageous battle with cancer.
Cheryl was born on October 4, 1957 in Adams, Minnesota, to Kenneth and Lorraine (Retterath) Kramer. Cheryl graduated from Southland High School in Adams, in 1975. She went on to earn a Medical Secretary degree from Rochester Vocational Institute in Rochester, Minnesota. After college, she worked with Mayo Clinic in Rochester, later transferring to Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. In 1987, she moved to Nashville, Tennessee, to work with The Center for Urological Treatment and Research and then with PhyMed (AMG Pain Management).
On September 29, 1995, Cheryl married Kenneth E. Ham, at St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Nashville. They resided in Nashville before moving to their current home in Gallatin, Tennessee.
Cheryl was a loving wife, step-mom, Nana, and friend to many. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She most enjoyed traveling with her husband to the mountains and her extended family on their annual beach vacation. Cheryl was active in her community, serving as a life guard at the Adams Municipal swimming pool while in high school. She continued as a servant in her community as an active volunteer at St. Ann’s Church in West Nashville.
Faith was a focal point in Cheryl’s life. To everyone, Cheryl brought the blessings of joy and kindness. Her heart had space for all. She is dearly loved and will be missed by all.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Ham, Gallatin, Tennessee; father, Kenneth Kramer, Adams, Minnesota; step-daughter, Jinger (Ray) Rainwater, Bethpage, Tennessee; brother, Randy (Wendy) Kramer, Austin, Minnesota; grandchildren: Kyle, Nick (Alison), Bryce, and Courtney Rainwater, Brittney and Kayla Toney; great-grandchildren: Lauren, Natalie and Sam Rainwater, and Grayson Pope; and nephews, Jacob and Brady Kramer.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Lorraine R. Kramer.
Visitation Services will be held on Tuesday, March 21st, 3:00-8:00 p.m., at Crestview Funeral Home, 1623 HWY 109 N, Gallatin, beginning with a Rosary Service at 2:30 p.m. She will lie in repose at the church, one hour before the service.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, 1729 Stop 30 Rd., Hendersonville, TN, on Wednesday, March 22nd, at 11:00 a.m., with interment at Crestview Memory Gardens, Gallatin.
The family would like to give special thanks to Alive Hospice, Madison, Tennessee, for the help and compassion shown to her and our family.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in her name to Sacred Heart Catholic School in Adams, Minnesota.
