ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Florence Roseanne Gerlach, 75, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016, the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.
Memorial service will be 1 p.m. Saturday at the United Methodist Church in St. Ansgar with Rev. Dr. Rhoda Preston officiating. Burial will be at Priem Cemetery on a later date. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at Schroeder Sites Funeral home in St. Ansgar.

ST. ANSGAR, IOWA — Florence Roseanne Gerlach, 75, of St. Ansgar, died on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at the Good Samaritan Center, St. Ansgar.
Memorial service will be at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at the United Methodist Church, St. Ansgar, with Rev. Dr. Rhoda Preston officiating. Burial will be in the Priem Cemetery.
Visitation is scheduled for Friday from 5 to 7 p.m. at Schroeder & Sites Funeral Home, St. Ansgar.
Florence was born on May 4, 1941, in Des Moines, Iowa, to James and Elizabeth (Warton) Parvin.
Florence married Roger Gerlach on March 5, 1960, in Des Moines, Iowa.
Florence worked at the St. Ansgar Enterprise Journal, Stacyville Monitor and the St. Ansgar Good Samaritan Center. She was editor of the Iowa Holstein Harold for six years. She was a honorary member of the Iowa State University Dairy Science Club as well as an Iowa Holstein Hall of Fame honoree.
Florence enjoyed golfing, having golfed in seventeen states, Scotland and England. Roger and Florence traveled to 48 states and 8 different countries.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Majors.
Florence is survived by her husband, Roger; four daughters, Randi (Gary) Bockman and son, Nick Bockman; Kathy (Chuck) Buchda and daughters, Carrie (Alex) Lau, Kristy True and Casey (Mike) Purcell; Patty (Tom) Oudekerk and children, Zoe Gerlach and Troy (Tammy) Oudekerk; Jacki (Greg) Hoffman and sons Tommy (Bailey) Hoffman and Anthony Hoffman; 13 great-grandchildren.
Florence’s family would also like to recognize the Jim Kline family for their friendship through the years.
