Obituary for Kathryn E Warburton
Kathryn E. Warburton, 84, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2016 at the Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville is in charge of the arrangements.
Kathryn was born on January 13, 1932, to John and Lillian (Schwake) Ring. She graduated from RHS. After time spent in Waterloo & Ohio, Kathryn returned to Riceville. She was employed by Farmer's Telephone Company in Riceville for many years. She also worked as a dispatcher for Tolsdorf Trucking in New Haven.
Kathryn was a member of St Peter's Lutheran Church. She greatly enjoyed sewing quilt tops for the LWML missions in her retirement. Kathryn found great contentment and joy in becoming a Master Gardener. She loved devoting her considerable horticultural skills to nurturing her gardens into beautiful displays of vibrant color.
Kathryn is survived by her children Philip Taylor, Nita (Jim) Thompson and Shirley (Kevin) Ries, as well as her husband Dale's sons Doug (Sue) Warburton & Darrell Warburton.Kathryn's grandchildren include Nita's children Doug and Angie, Shirley's children Danielle, Gabrielle & Courtney, Doug's children Adam & Megan, and Darrell's children Heather & Sara. She leaves behind 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Lois Ankrum and Sharon Erath.
Preceding her in death were her parents John and Lillian, her husband Dale, her brothers Marvin, John, and Elmer, and her sister Reberta.
Philip, Nita, and Shirley would like to thank the staff of the Riceville Family Care & Therapy Center for the dedicated care they provided to Kathryn. Another heartfelt thanks goes to our Aunt Berdean for the myriad of ways she has been there to support us during this difficult time.
