Peter (Peder) Reisaetter Olesen Williams was born September 13, 1874, at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Vigliek (William) Reisaeter Olesen and Sigri Gundersdatter, the fourth of their five children.
He was baptized on November 29, 1874, at Rock Creek Lutheran, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. His baptismal sponsors were: Knud Olsen; Peder Maakestad; Catherine Halvorsdatter and Helga Bartraudsdatter. He was confirmed at RCLC on June 8, 1890 and attended rural school in the Meroa area.
His father is found using both Reisaetter and Olesen as his surname. William's children used the surname Reisaetter or Olesen as children but changed to Williams when adults.
Found in the 1880 - 1905 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1880: William Olieson 63, Sarah Olieson 41, George 11, Millard 8, Laura 13, Peter 5, Carl 2, Halleck Peterson Benson 19.
1885: William Olson 60, Sarah Olson 47, Laura 18, George 15, Gust 13, Peter 10, Carl 6.
1900: Peter Williams 25, Sarah Williams 62, Laura G 33, Carl 22.
1905: Sarah Olson, Peter Williams.
After his father's death, Peter and family helped their mother with farming until they decided to sell their shares of the farm to their brother, Gustav M Williams. Sigri (Peter's mother), Peter, Laura and Carl then moved to Polk County, Minnesota to homestead land.
Found in the 1910 census at Roome, Polk, Minnesota: Peter Williams 35, Carl Williams 32, Laura G Williams 42, Sigrid Williams 72.
Peter married Sella Dahl on August 25, 1918 at Crookston, Polk, Minnesota. The couple had 7 children: Selmer L, Inez Lorraine, Palmer E, Hilda Geneva, Clarisse Marion, Milton Erwin and Mary Laura.
Found in the 1920, 1930 censuses living on a farm at Roome, Polk, Minnesota:
1920: Peter Williams 45, Sella G A Williams 23, Selmer L 2 yrs 9 mos, Inez L 1 yr 3 mos, Palmer E 2 mos.
1930: Peter Williams 54, Lalla Williams 32, Selmar L 13, Inez L 11, Palmer W 10, Hilda J 8, Clarice M 7, Milton E 5.
Found in the 1940 census at Fisher, Polk, Minnesota: Peter Williams 64, Sella G Williams 43, Selmer L 23, Inez L 21, Palmer E 20, Hilda G 18, Clarice M 17, Milton E 15, Lora J 73, Gilbert A Dahl 33.
Peter Williams died January 4, 1962 at Crookston, Polk, Minnesota.

Obituary:
Peter Williams, 87, a longtime resident of the Fisher area died Thursday in a Crookston hospital where he had been a patient for several weeks. Mr Williams was born September 13, 1874 near Osage, Iowa. He had resided in the Fisher, MN area for over 50 years and had been engaged in farming in Fisher township.
He was married to Sella Dahl on August 25, 1918 in Crookston, MN. She died in 1942 and a son, Palmer, in 1950. Mr. Williams was the last member of his childhood family.
Survivors include three daughters: Mrs. John (Inez) Huber of Fisher; Mrs. Vernon (Hilda) Sandstrom of Fargo, ND; and Mrs. Donald (Clarice) Jones of Minneapolis; two sons: Selmer of East Grand Forks and Milton of Fisher and 11 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be Monday at 2 P.M. from The Fisher Lutheran Church, where he was a member. The Rev. Clayton C. Engan will officiate. Burial will be in the Fisher Cemetery in the spring.
