DEATH AND BURIAL OF MRS. OLE HOUGE

Miss Julie Reierson was born in Opdal, Norway in the year 1831. She came to the United States with her brothers when but a young girl of 20.
In the year 1857 she was married to Ole Houge, and together they settled in Mitchell county, Iowa where they lived for 23 years. In the year 1882 they came to South Dakota, where she has since lived.
She was the mother of nine children, three boys and six girls, seven of whom still living to mourn her loss.
Mrs. Houge, a kind and loving mother, having had her share of sorrow and care in life. She was brought up in the Lutheran church, of which she was a faithful member, during her old age she has spent many hours reading the Bible.
Mrs. Ole Houge passed to the great beyond, Tuesday, August 4, at 5 o'clock, after an illness of about a year, being at the time of her death 83 years of age.
Funeral services were conducted last Friday at Rock Creek church, Rev. Brudvig officiating. The remains were laid to rest beside her husband in the Rock Creek cemetery.
The Advocate joins with the many friends of the family in extending sympathy to the bereaved family.
