Ross Eckert Funeral Held

Funeral services for a former Otranto, Iowa, area resident, Ross Eckert, 84, who died Monday, May 5 at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, Minnesota, will be held Thursday, May 8 at 1:30 p.m. at the Congregational church in Hollandale, Minnesota.

Burial will be in the Woodbury cemetery, Lyle.

Ross E. Eckert Funeral Held In Austin

Funeral services for Ross E. Eckert, 84, who died May 5 at St. Olaf hospital, Austin, were held May 8 at the Congregational church in Hollandale, Minn, with the Rev. Wm. Banchester officiating. Burial was in Woodbury cemetery near Lyle.

Born October 2, 1884 in Freeborn county, Minnesota, he was the son of B.B. and Valyda (Davis) Eckert. He received his education in the Freeborn county schools

His marriage to Effie Tunmore took place December 24, 1904, at Aberdeen, South Dakota. They farmed for many years in the Deer Creek township area. Mrs. Eckert died April 5,1967.

Surviving are four daughters: Mrs. Edward (Valyda) Goodew of Rose Creek, Mrs. Rueben (Ruth) Thatcher, Granton, Wisconsin, Mrs. Russell (Stella) Wambeam, Austin, and Mrs. Norris (Lillian) Johnson of St. Ansgar; four sons: Clarence and Shirley, both of Effie, Minnesota, Willis of Osseo, Wis., and Jason of Hollandale; 35 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren
