Olavus Halverson Funeral Held In Austin

Funeral services for a lifelong resident of Lyle, Olavus Halverson, 76, were held Tuesday, February 3 at Worlein Funeral Home, Austin, with the Rev. M. Johnson officiating. Interment was in Woodbury cemetery west of Lyle.

Mr. Halverson died February 1 at Mitchell County Memorial hospital in Osage, the last member of his family of five.

Olavus Halverson, son of Mr and Mrs. Ole Halverson was born October 26, 1893, at Rosholt, Wisconsin. He came to Lyle when a young lad after the death of his father and was raised by an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. B.J. Hanson.

On May 15, 1918 he was married to Clara Martinson and they lived in Lyle all their married life. Mr. Halverson was employed as a farmer and a carpenter

Survivors are four sons: Kenneth of Minneapolis; Clayton of Otisco, Minn.; Ronald and Paul, both of Lyle; two daughters, Mrs. Franklin (Norma) Newell of Austin, Mrs. Delton (Loris) Drennen of Minneapolis; 19 grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
