R. O. Richards Obsequies at Otranto Saturday

Funeral services were held at 3 o'clock Saturday afternoon at the Otranto Community church for R. O. Richards, the Rev. Milton Nothdurft in charge. Burial was in Woodbury cemetery.

Robert Owen Richards was born April 17, 1869 at Turin, New York.

He came to Iowa with his parents, brothers and sisters at the age of 12 years, residing on what was known as the stock farm in Old Otranto, until the death of his father, after which he with his mother and sister Gertrude moved to a farm in Woodbury where he farmed for 39 years.

He was married to Martha Hansen on January 1, 1917. On account of his health they sold their farm, moving to Otranto on March 1, 1938. In October his health failed and he was confined to his home where he passed away on May 1, at the age of [illegible] years and 13 days.

He was preceded in death by his father, mother, one brother and five sisters.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, Martha Richards, two sisters, Mrs. Belle West, Missoula, Montana; Mrs. Ella Gibson of Tucson, Arisona; [illegible], seven nephews and a host of friends.
