Obituary for Lola Mae Truax
Lola M. Truax, 85, of Osage, Iowa died Friday March 11, 2016 at the I.O.O.F., Mason City, Iowa.
Memorial services will be 1:00 p.m. Wednesday March 16, 2016 at the Hogan-Bremer-Moore Colonial Chapel, Mason City, Iowa with Rev. David Byrd Chaplin of I.O.O.F Home in Mason City, Iowa. Visitation will be one hour before the service on Wednesday. Inurnment will be at a later date in Osage Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Joyce Vorce, 5 Book Terrace, Mason City, Iowa 50401.
Lola was born August 18, 1931 in Rockwell, Iowa the daughter of Earl P. and Maude Abelle (Underwood) King. She graduated from Rockwell High School.
On May 12, 1951, she was united in marriage to Russell Truax in Rockwell, Iowa. They have shared 64 years together. To this union they had two sons Dennis and Terry.
She enjoyed crafting of any kind and helping anyone she could.
She was loved and cared for by three generations of nieces Joyce Vorce, Tammy Meggers, Amanda Smith and the nurses and aides of I.O.O.F. Home, who all became her family.
She was a member of Osage United Methodist Church and a life member of Osage V.F.W. Auxiliary.
She is survived by her husband Russell Truax; one son Terry Truax; sister-in-law Joan (Richard) Wiff; brother-in-law’s David (Irene) Truax and Gary Truax and shared many wonderful memories with five generations of nieces and nephews.
