Pearl Ida Hockens, daughter of Daniel and Edith Hockens was born October 8, 1884 in Mitchell county, Iowa, and passed away at her home at McIntire, Iowa, 10 minutes to noon, Tuesday, July 27, 1943, from a cerebral hemorrhage. She had reached the age of 58 years, 9 months and 19 days.
On June 2, 1902 she was united in marriage to Frank E. Robbins, of McIntire. Mrs. Robbins, was well known throughout this community, where she spent her entire life. She was a devoted wife, kind and loving mother, devoted much time to her seven grandchildren.
besides her husband and aged mother she leaves to mourn her loss, three daughters and one son: Velma Fuller, Rochester, Leonor Tienken, Riceville, NaVera Schott, Lawler, and Wilbur Robbins, Spencer; also seven grandchildren; on eniece, Ida Wright of Minneapolis; three nephews, Larry and Howard Hockens of McIntire, and Corporal Lorrain Perry Hockens, North Africa. Her father and a brother preceded her in death.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, July 29, 1943. Rev. N. Schott, Dubois, Indiana, gave a prayer at the home at 2 o'clock and at 2:30 at the Baptist church, with the Rev. Olson and the Rev. Bodenham of Riceville in charge. Burial was in the Wayne cemetery.
Pallbearers were Henry Hockens, Bert Ott, Henry Erger, Francis Hall, Avery Kinter and John baily.
