JOHN STIBAL DIES OF
HEART DISEASE,
ILL SEVERAL YEARSJohn Stibal died Monday, June 21, at his farm near New Haven, after an illness of about three years from heart disease. He had been about until just recently, however. Mr. Stibal would have been 70 years of age on Tuesday, June 20 [SIC, should be 22].
Deceased was born at Tabor, Bohemia, June 22, 1873. He came to America at the age of a year and a half with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Stibal. They first located in Chicago, and later moved to Silver Lake, Minnesota, where they resided for some time.
During his younger years he operated a harness shop in Little Cedar. While living there he was married to Laura Carroll in the year of 1900. After their marriage they lived at Brewster, Minnesota, for some time, then returned to Little Cedar where he again operated a harness shop.
In 1914 he started farming in the New Haven vicinity, and was actively engaged in the operation of his farm until three years ago when he was forced to give up active work because of poor health. Since that time his youngest son, Robert, has operated the farm.
To Mr. and Mrs. Stibal were born five children: Carroll, and Mrs. Harold Hubbard of Charles City; Jack, of Osage; Mrs. Garland Fox, who resides at home as her husband is in the service, and Robert, also at home. They and Mrs. Stibal survive; also four grandchildren: Laura Jean Hubbard, Charles City, and Gary, Coralee and Gregg, children of the Hack Stibals.
Funeral service was held Wednesday morning at 9:30 o'clock at st. Peter's church at New Haven, the Rev. Father Meyer officiating. Burial was in the New Haven cemetery.
