Obituary for Carol Ann Osmundson

Carol Ann (Klapperich) Osmundson, 78, of Austin, died Saturday, May 2, 2015 at Mayo Clinic Health System Austin.

Carol was born on the family farm in Meyer, IA on April 21, 1937 to William and Margaret (Huemann) Klapperich.

She attended and graduated from Pacelli High School in 1956.

Carol worked for Younkers in the customer service department for over 25 years. She was a member of St. Augustine Catholic Church. Carol loved spending time attending her grandchildren’s sporting and school events. She also enjoyed spending time with her friends and family members. Carol loved to travel and read.

Carol is survived by her daughters; Sonya (Paul) Otting of Lakeville, MN and Nicole (Jeremy) Osmundson-Dudycha of Austin; grandchildren, Jason Otting, Taylor Osmundson, Hope Dudycha and Emma Dudycha; sisters, Rosemary Klapperich of Austin, Helen (Ambrose) Krebsbach of Rose Creek and many nieces and nephews.

Carol is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Oswald and Gerald Klapperich, sister, Alice Mullenbach, grandson Jeremy Otting and other family members.

A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at St. Augustine Catholic Church with Father John Traufler officiating. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-7 pm on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Mayer Funeral Home and again at 9:30 am at the church.
