Julius Gerhard Olson was born September 29, 1898 at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa to John Olson and Gubjorg Guttormsdatter, the youngest of their four children.

Julius was confirmed on July 6, 1913 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

Julius married Inga Josefine Hansdatter Linstad in 1920 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had 4 sons:
Jean Harold (b June 14, 1921 Rock, Mitchell, Iowa, d November 22, 1977 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa);

Melvin Galen (b November 12, 1923 Mitchell Co, Iowa, d 1960);

Robert Oscar (b March 14, 1925 Mitchell Co, Iowa, d March 8, 1994 same) and

Keith (b 1930).

Found in the 1900 - 1930 censuses living on a farm at Rock, Mitchell, Iowa:
1900: John Olson 59, Julia Olson 42, Carolina Olson 17, Gustav Olson 14, Olga Olson 5, Julius Olson 1, Johan Olson 58

1910: John Olson 70, Gulbjorg Guttormsdatter Anderson Olson 50, Olga Olson 16, Julius Olson 12, Johan Olson 68.

1915: Julius Olson age 16.

1920: John Olson 80, emigrated 1873, naturalized in 1880. Born in Sweden; wife Julie 63 born in Norway, emigrated 1873; son Julius G 21, born in Iowa, farmer; daughter Olga 24 born in Iowa, single; brother Johan 77 born in Sweden, emigrated 1870

1925: Julius Olsen 26, Inga Olsen 23, Jean Olsen 3, Melvin Olsen 1.

1930: Julius Olson 30, Inga Olson 28, Jean Olson 8, Melvin Olson 6, Robert Olson 1 yr 10 mos, Donald Grunard 17.

Found in the 1940 census at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa: Julius Olson 41, Inga Olson 38, Jean Olson 18, Melvin Olson 16, Robert Olson 11, Keith Olson 9.

Julius G Olson died December 30, 1991 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
