Geral Clair Olsen was born July 30, 1916 on the Zarling farm, 6 and 1/2 miles east of Grafton, Worth, Iowa to Kristian Olausen Olsen and Clara Andersen, the third of their five children.

Geral was born at 3:15 on a Sunday and weighed 10 and a half pounds. He only lived 12 days.

Geral Olsen died August 10, 1916 at home at rural Grafton, Worth, Iowa. He was buried at the St Ansgar Cemetery, St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

There is a memorial for him at Find a Grave #75318529.
