ELMA, IOWA - Glenna Mae Hastings, 81, of Elma, died Monday, April 4, 2005, at Colonial Manor, Elma.

She was born September 13, 1923, in Little Cedar, daughter of Fred and Verna Graves Hill. She married Robert Hastings.

Ms. Hastings graduated from Little Cedar High School. She farmed with her husband near McIntire and then near Elma in 1952. She was a school bus driver for 28 years for the New Hampton School District and worked at Sara Lee until retiring.

Survivors include five sons, Jack (Betty Jo) of Alta Vista, Dan of Waterloo, Mike and Mark, both of Elma, and Bruce (Joyce) of Lawler; a daughter-in-law, Susan Hastings of New Hampton; a stepsister, Virginia (Forrest) Ellison of Osage; nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, Gary; a granddaughter; a half brother, Fred Lyle Hill; and two stepbrothers, Marian and Charles Young.

Services: 10 a.m. Friday at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, Elma, with burial in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, Lourdes. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home, where there will be a 7 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation will continue for an hour prior to services at the funeral home.
