Britta "Betsey" Oline Nelson was born 1864 at Spring Prairie, Columbia, Wisconsin to Niels Aadsen Himle Nelson and Inga Ivarsdatter Syse (Olsen), the first of their nine children.
Britta was baptized in Wisconsin. The family moved in the late 1860's to Iowa.
Found in the 1870 census living at Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa: Weles O Nelson 28, Erya Nelson 28, Betsey A Nelson 5, Edward J Nelson 4, Mary K Nelson 1, Edward Nelson 23.
Found in the 1873 Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Iowa membership list: Niels O. Nielsen Himle, age 31; Wife Inga, age 31; Children: Brita Oline, age 8; Iver Johana, age 7; Catherina Marie, age 4; and Emma Josephine, age 2.
Britta was confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran in Meroa, Iowa on April 20, 1879.
Found in the 1880 census mortality schedule at rural Rudd, Floyd, Iowa.
Britta died January 11, 1880 at Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa at the age of 16 from possibly diptheria. She was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. There is a memorial for her at Find a Grave #49815654.
