Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 30, 1983, at the Champion Funeral Home, Osage, Iowa, for Jacob "Jake" Nannenga, 70, of rural Osage, who died Sunday, March 27, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Rev. J. Nesheim of Our Savior's Lutheran Church will officiate at the service. Champion Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Services will also be held on Wednesday at Zion Lutheran Church, Clear Lake, Iowa, with Rev. J. Nesheim and Rev. M. Jolivette, of Zion Lutheran Church officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Mason City, Iowa.
Mr. Nannenga was born on September 5, 1912, to Henry and Gertie (Ibling) Nannenga on a farm near Alexander in Franklin county. He married Bernice Ball on August 10, 1942, at St. John's Lutheran Church near Ventura.
He rented farms in the Ventura, Thornton and Klemme areas until buying farms near Clear Lake and Osage. He had been a resident of Osage since 1970, and was an avid sportsman.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Marie.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice, Osage; a daughter, Marie Nannenga, Mason City; two sons, Karl, of Osage, and Christ, of Thornton; three brothers: George of Garner, Herman of Mason City and Clarence of Klemme, and by two grandchildren.
