COOPER, BARKHUFF, WILDE, SMITH

Funeral services were held on Tuesday at the United Methodist Church in Osage, Iowa, for Mrs. Frank (Ida) Cooper, age 77, who died Saturday, March 19, 1983, at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Elmer Wilde. Rev. J. Pittman and Rev. J. Gilbert officiated at the service. Burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Ida Cooper was born on October 1, 1905 in Deepwater, Missouri. She was the daughter of William Henry and Addie Bell Jenkins. She attended school in a rural school near Deepwater, Missouri. She moved with her parents from Benton county, Missouri, to Osage in 1922, in a covered wagon.

She was baptized in the First United Methodist Church in Osage where she attended since coming to this area. She was united in marriage to Frank Way Cooper on June 11, 1924, at the parental Jenkins home. During their married life they made their home and farmed in the Little Cedar area.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Frank; three brothers: Booker T., Clayton and Henry Jenkins; four sisters: Nellie, Maude, Ethel and Viney; and two grandchildren, Larry Dean and Donna Marie Wilde.

She is survived by one sister, Mary Rebecca of Osage; one son, William F. Cooper of Kansas City, Missouri; three daughters, Mrs. Walter A. (Darlene) Smith, Mrs. David D. (Barbara) Barkhuff of Austin, Mrs. Elmer H. (Loreen) Wilde, Sr., of Osage; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
