Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 3, at the St. Ansgar Catholic Church, for Mrs. Greg (Josephine) Spoden, 79, who died on Sunday, February 27, 1983, at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital. Father John Smith will officiate at the service, and burial will be in the St. Ansgar Cemetery. Champion Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

Josephine was born at Alta Vista, Iowa, on October 21, 1903, the daughter of Herman and Celia (Jasch) Buchholtz. She grew up in the Alta Vista and New Haven areas.

Gregor Spoden and Josephine Buchholtz were married on October 11, 1927 in Janesville, Wisconsin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Harry; and two infant twin daughters.

Josephine is survived by her husband; one daughter**; three grandsons; and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Eugene Riley; two brothers, Louie Buchholtz of Riceville and art Buchholtz of Alta Vista; and many nieces and nephews.
