BYRNES, YAGER, ERWIN

Funeral services were held on Thursday, February 17, 1983, at St. Peters Catholic Church in New Haven for Erwin Byrnes, 61, who died on Tuesday, February 15, 1983, at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota. Rev. J. Gregory officiated at the service and burial was in the Church cemetery. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Erwin was born in Riceville, the son of James Angelo and Grace Erwin Byrnes. He grew up in the New Haven area.

He was united in marriage on June 22, 1946, to JoAnne Yager. They were married in New Haven. He was a longtime New Haven area farmer and seed Salesman.

Erwin was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jonathan and Jason; one daughter, Molly; and one brother, Joseph.

Survivors include his wife, JoAnne; four daughters: Mrs. Edward (Mary) Briles, Buhl, Idaho; Mrs. Edward (Patricia) Stark, Baker, Nevada; Mrs. David (Janet) Wright, Clinton, North Carolina; and Jill Byrnes at home; four sons, James and Mark, both of San Diego, California; Robert of Cedar Falls, and Casey at home; seven grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Harrison (Dorothy) Emrich and Mrs. Keith (Ruth) Dunlay, both of Waterloo; and two brothers, Claire of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and Dean of Riceville.
