SHOARS, BEMENT, LEWIS

Funeral services were held on Saturday, February 19, 1983, at the Champion Funeral Home for Grace Shoars, 87, who died Thursday, February 17, at the White House Nursing Home in Osage. Rev. G. Hope of the First Baptist Church officiated at the service, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.

Grace was born on September 28, 1895, in Osage, the daughter of Frank and Alzina Bement Lewis.

Grace E. Lewis and Smith Shoars were married on April 11, 1914. They were the parents of six children.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister, Beth, one brother, Ralph and five great-grandchildren of Brownsville, Texas.

Grace is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Wayne (Dorothy) Duenow of Brownsville, Texas; Mrs. Jack (Allene) Wineberg of Indianapolis, Indiana; Mrs. Forrest (Joan) Peterson of La Platta, Missouri; Mrs. Gervis (WIlma) Bohneman and Mrs. Don (Phyllis) Dvorak both of Waterloo, and one son, Dean of Plymouth. Also Larry Newhouse of Peoria, Illinois; 31 grandchildren, 58 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
