Funeral services were held on Tuesday, February 15, 1983, at the United Methodist Church for Valera "Vee" Pohle, 88, who died Tuesday, February 8, 1983, at an Osage nursing home. Rev. J. Pittman officiated at the service, and burial was in the Osage Cemetery. Champion Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
Vee was born on January 31, 1895, in Geneva, the daughter of Charles E. and Mary Jane McClellend Felsman. She grew up in the Allison-Rockwell area and graduated from school in Rockwell and then taught country school for several years.
She and Oscar Pohle were married on October 14, 1916. They came to Osage and were in partnership with Walter Swanson in the drug store. Later they bought the entire store and operated it until Oscar's death in 1962.
Vee was a member of the United Methodist Church, a 60 year member of the O.E.S. and charter member of Sunny Brae Country Club.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar, one infant son, Richard William, her parents and several sisters and brothers.
She is survived by one sister, Celia Palmer of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, one brother, Clarence Felsman of Mt. Vernon and several nieces and nephews.
