Alvin Joseph McKee was born May 11 (or May 17), 1904 on a farm at Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa to Gertrude Heffner and John Edward McKee. Alvin had a half-brother, Vernon.

Alvin was baptized and confirmed at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. (Confirmed December 9, 1951).

Found in the 1905 - 1920 censuses at Falls Township, Cerro Gordo, Iowa:
1910: John E McKee 29, Louise McKee 23, Alvin Joseph McKee 6, Vernon McKee 4.

1915: Alvin Mc Kee 10.

1920: John E Mckee 38, Annie L Mckee 35, Alvil J Mckee 15, Vernon I Mckee 13.

Alvin married Effie Irene Shoger on November 5, 1924 at the Rock Creek Lutheran, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had 3 children:
Verle Ernest (b May 21, 1925 Rock Falls, Cerro Gordo, Iowa, d October 6, 2009 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa);

Audrey (b November 28, 1929 Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa, d June 30, 1997 Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa) and

Phyllis (b 1939 Jamestown, Howard, Iowa.)

Found in the 1925 census at Falls, Cerro Gordo, Iowa: Alvin J Mckee 20, Effie D Mckee 19.

Found in the 1930 census at Rock Grove, Floyd, Iowa: Alvin J Mckee 25, Effie I Mckee 24, Verle E Mckee 4, Audrey L Mckee 2 yrs 4 mos, John Broderick 50.

Found in the 1940 census at Jamestown, Howard, Iowa: Alvin McKee 35, Effie McKee 34, Verle McKee 14, Audrey McKee 10, Phylis McKee 1, Harold Trainer 31, John McKee 59. Farmer.

Alvin J McKee died December 10, 1979 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.

There is a memorial for him at Find a Grave #89568914.
