Nora Beatrice Maakestad was born January 20, 1909 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Martin Hannanias Maakestad and Emelia Nicolene Himle Nelson, the youngest of their six children.

Nora was baptized on March 14, 1909 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church at Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa. Her baptismal sponsors were: Mr & Mrs Iver Nelson; Gertie Haugen and Elmer Larson. She was confirmed at RCLC on May 13, 1923.

Nora married Kenneth Leland Klemesrud on November 16, 1928 at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church, Meroa, Iowa.

The couple had 5 children:
Elizabeth Jane (b April 15, 1930 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa, d October 16, 2004 Flanagan, Livingston, Illinois);

Marlys Jean (b February 6, 1932 Osage, Iowa, d August 7, 1947 Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa);

Kathleen Anna (b March 27, 1934 Osage, Iowa, d July 3, 2010 Manly, Worth, Iowa) and

2 sons, Gary Lee and Richard Kenneth (still living in 2014).

Found in the 1910 - 1925 censuses living at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1910: Martin Hannanias Maakestad 39, Emelia Nicolene Himle Nelson Maakestad 34, Esther Makestand 14, Johannes Nicolai Maakestad 12, Edwin Martin Maakestad 10, Gladys Mable Maakestad 7, Peter Leonard Maakestad 4, Nora Beatrice Maakestad 1 yr 2 mos, Martin Finsand 29.

1915: Nora Maakestad age 6.

1920: Martin H Maakestad 48, Emellia N Maakestad 44, John N Maakestad 22, Edward M Maakestad 20, Gladys M Maakestad 17, Leonard P Maakestad 13, Nora B Maakestad 10.

1925: Martin H MacKested 53, Emelia N MacKested 49, Leonard P Makested 19, Nora B Makested 15.

Found in the 1930, 1940 censuses at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa:
1930: Kenneth L Klemesrud 21, Nora B Klemesrud 21.

1940: Kenneth Klemesrud 31, Nora Klemesrud 31, Elisabeth Klemesrud 9, Marlys Klemesrud 8, Kathleen Klemesrud 6, Grady Sorlie 3.

Nora Klemesrud died November 25, 1975 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
