Nicholas John Streit – October 22, 1882 – November 19, 1961

NICHOLAS STRIET RITES TUESDAY AT STACYVILLE

Nicholas Streit, 79, died Sunday at the Mitchell County Memorial Hospital, Osage. He had been hospitalized 10 days ago after a one car auto accident.

Funeral services will be Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Visitation Catholic Church here. The Rev. Joseph Wiehl will officiate. Burial will be in Visitation Cemetery with Hatten & Son Funeral Home in charge.

Surviving are two sons, Leo and John, Stacyville; three daughters, Mrs. Al (Esther) Russell, Marcelline, Missouri; Mrs. Wilfred (Marcella) Koenigs, Mrs. Marvin (Theresa) Johnson, both of Stacyville; 20 grandchildren and a sister, Mary, Ashton, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose, in 1958, three brothers and three sisters.

Nicholas John Streit was born October 22, 1882 in Iowa, the son of John Streit and Anna Marie (Becker) Streit.

He married Rose Margaret Wallrich, the daughter of Frank Wallrich and Magdelena (Pfeiffer) Wallrich.
