Ole Knudsen was born February 22, 1853 at Gran, Oppland, Norway to Knud Bjorgesen and Liv Hansdatter.

Ole emigrated to Iowa 1874.

He married Kari Olsdatter on September 27, 1879 at St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa.

The couple had 11 children:
Carl Olsen Knudsen (b November 28, 1879 Floyd, Iowa, d May 23, 1922 Floyd, Iowa);

Oscar (b March 15, 1881 Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa, d April 24, 1937 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa);

Lawrence D (b December 20, 1882, d November 6, 1891 both at Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa);

Peter Adolf (b September 16, 1884 Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa, d June 26, 1945 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa);

Herman M (b May 1886, d June 9, 1886 both at Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa);

Herman Mauris (b July 25, 1887 Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa, d October 13, 1977 Glendale, Los Angeles, California);

Pernille (b September 13, 1888 Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa, d December 30, 1989 Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa);

Julian Bernhard ( b November 11, 1890, d August 11, 1891 both at Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa);

Julian Leonhard (b May 10, 1892 Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa, d July 1, 1966 Mitchell, Iowa);

Laura Johanne (b September 9, 1893 Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa, d 1970 Marshalltown, Marshall, Iowa) and

Olga Cecelia (b March 25, 1903 Lincoln, Mitchell, Iowa, d June 22, 1982 Columbus, Georgia).

Found in the 1880 census at Rudd, Floyd, Iowa: Ole Knudeson 26, Carrie O. Knudeson 23, Carl Knudeson 7 mos. Working with the Railroad.

Ole & Kari lived on the east side of the Cedar river in West Lincoln Twnshp., Mitchell Co., Iowa....west of Orchard. They were friends and neighbors of the Hans Pedersen Alms family who had also emigrated from Gran, Hadeland, Oppland, Norway.

1900: Ole Knudson 46, Carrie Knudson 54, Carl Knudson 20, Oscar Knudson 19, Peter Knudson 14, Herman Knudson 12, Nellie Knudson 11, Julian Knudson 8, Laura Knudson 6.

Found in the 1910 - 1930 censuses living at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa:
1910: Ola Knudson 57, Carrie Knudson 54, Herman Knudson 22, Julian Leonhard Knudsen 17, Laura Knudson 16, Olga Cecelia Knudsen 7.

1920: Ole Knutson 66, Carrie Knutson 63, Peter A Knutson 35, Julian Knutson 28, Olga Knutson 16.

1925: Ole Kundson 72, Carrie Kundson 68, Peter Kundson 40, Julian Kundson 32, Olga Kundson 21.

1930: Ole Knudson 77, Carrie Knudson 73, Peter A Knudson 45, Julien L Knudson 37.

Ole Knudsen died on February 11, 1934 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and was buried at the Osage Cemetery, Osage, Iowa.
