Lise (also found as Lisa, Louisa, Eliza, Lizzie) Hansdatter Knudsen (Knudson) was born June 1860 at Newburg, Mitchell, Iowa to Hans Knudsen and Aase Larsdatter, the fifth of their six children.

Found in the 1860 - 1880 censuses at rural St Ansgar, Mitchell, Iowa:
1860: Hans Knudson 40, Oso Knudson 40, Anna Knudson 15, Hans Knudson 5, Caroline Knudson 2, Louisa Knudson 1 mo.

1870: Hans Canuteson 52, Osa Canuteson 50, Hans Canuteson 15, Carrie Canuteson 12, Leesa Canuteson 10, Lewis Canuteson 6.

1880: Hans Knudsen 60, Carrie Knudsen 22, Eliza Knudsen 20, Lewis Knudsen 16.

Sometime between 1880-1882, Lise married Lars Lewis Chenous. (Lars born 1852, d 1924, Find a Grave Memorial #103928503).

The couple had 6 children.

Found in the 1905 - 1930 censuses living at Argyle, Lafayette, Wisconsin:
1905: Lewis Chenous 53, Eliza Chenous 46, Lewis ChenousJunior 22, Oscar Chenous 20, Ida Chenous 17, Harry Chenous 14, Tom Chenous 8, Laura Chenous10.

1910: Lewis L Chenous 55, Lizzie Chenous 49, Lewis Chenous Jr. 27, Oscar Chenous 25, Ida Chenous 22, Harry Chenous 19, Laura Chenous 16, Tom Chenous 13.

1920: Louis Chenous 66, Lizzie Chenous 59.

1930: Lizzie H Chenous 69, Orville Chenous 10, Laura Latin 36, Alice Latin 12, Walter Latin 11, Helen Latin 8.

Lise Chenous died in 1945 at Argyle, Lafayette, Wisconsin and was buried at the Yellowstone Lutheran Church Cemetery, Argyle, Lafayette, Wisconsin.
