WAUCOMA, IOWA - Bernice Julia Langreck, 82, of rural Waucoma, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2006, at the New Hampton Care Center, New Hampton.

She was born September 21, 1923, in Riceville, daughter of Victor and Katherine Linkenmeyer DeSloover. On Aug. 8, 1944, she married Clem Langreck at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Lawler

Mrs. Langreck and her husband farmed until retiring in 1982.

Survivors include her husband; six daughters, Marilyn (Gary) Baack of Marion, Linda Leibold of Waucoma, Delores (Merle) Brannon of New Hampton, Jeanette "Jan" (Chuck) Bittner of Shell Rock, Susan (Stephen) Mahoney of Ionia and Gladys (William Sr.) Hruska of Lawler; a son, Jim (Mary) of Lawler; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren; a twin brother, Bernard (Mary) DeSloover of Waucoma; three sisters Verda (Henry) Langreck of St. Lucas, Katherine (Francis) Langreck of Lawler and Betty (Herbert) Tillman of Waucoma; and a sister-in-law, Florence DeSloover of Waucoma.

Preceded in death by a brother, Loyal DeSloover; and a son-in-law, Linus Leibold.

Services: 10:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church, Lawler, with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Conway-Kolbet Funeral Home, New Hampton, where there will be a 4 p.m. rosary and 7 p.m. Scripture service. Visitation also for an hour before services Friday at the church.
