RICEVILLE, IOWA - Floyd E. Moses, 89, of Riceville passed away Tuesday, April 15, 2014, at the Mitchell County Regional Health Center in Osage, Iowa.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 19, at St. Paul’s Maple Leaf Lutheran Church in rural Elma with Pastor Dan Christensen officiating. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery in Riceville.

Friends may call at the Lindstrom Funeral Home in Riceville from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.

Floyd E. Moses was born June 10, 1924, the son of George and Lois Soltow Moses, on the family farm south of Saratoga, Iowa. He attended local country schools and graduated from Riceville High School in 1942. He was united in marriage to Edith LaVonne Lubbert on June 1, 1948, at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Floyd was employed at Mosher Doors and retired from farming in the fall of 1972 when they moved to Riceville.

Survivors include his wife, LaVonne of Riceville; two sons, Kirby (Jane) of St. Ansgar, and Vernon (Sandy) of Nashua; nine grandchildren, Amy Moses, Julie Moses, Kevin (Liz) Moses, Kyle and Kody Moses, Brian (Michelle) Horgen, and Micki (Bryan) Christianson, Kara (Joe) Walk, and Kristina O’Geary; seven great-grandchildren, Blake Horgen, Gabe, Lily and Gus Walk, Jayden O’Geary, Travis Rawn, and Carrie Wallace, and another soon to be born; and one sister. Arlys Vote of Riceville.

Floyd was preceded in death by his parents.
