Ole Johan Larssen Johnson was born March 31, 1872 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Lars Helgesen Johnson and Brita Eriksen, the youngest of their three children.

Ole had 2 sisters, Gunhild Jorging and Hanna Emelia and 4 half-sisters: Breta Helen, Estella, Clara Louise and Olive Adelia. Born on the family farm, attended the Dudley school and the Cedar Valley seminary. As he farmed, he bought land until he doubled the size of the original homestead.

1880: L. H. Johnson 45, Isabel Johnson 31, Nelli Johnson 11, Hanne Johnson 9, Ole Johnson 8, Hellen Johnson 2, Estela Johnson 3m, Ole Iverson 27.

1885: Lars Johnson 49, Bell Johnson 36, Nellie Johnson 15, Hannah Johnson 14, Oley Johnson 12, Ella Johnson 7, Estella Johnson 4, Clara Johnson 3.

1900: Lars H Johnson 65, Andrina I Johnson 51, Ole J Johnson 28, Helen B Johnson 22, Estelle C Johnson 20, Clara L Johnson 18, Olive A Johnson 11.

Found in the 1910 - 1915 censuses at rural Rudd, Floyd, Iowa:
1910: Ole Johnson age 38.

1915: Ole J Johnson age 42

Ole married Marie Elizabeth Beagles possibly on January 14, 1920 at Algona, Kossuth, Iowa.

The couple had 4 children:
Louis Thomas (b April 27, 1916, d July 18, 2006);

Olive May (b May 2, 1918, married Raymond Borchardt, d September 4, 2007 Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa);

Marie E(b Jan 2, 1921 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, d Oct 7, 2003 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa) and

Lola (b 1924, married Wilmer Brandau, d 2000).

1925: Ole J Johnson 52, Marie E Johnson 31, Louis T Johnson 8, Olise M Johnson 6, Marie E Johnson 3, Lola B Johnson 1, C H Briggs 58.

1930: widowed, Ole J Johnson 58, Louis T Johnson 13, Olive M K Johnson 11, Marie E Johnson 9, Lola B Johnson 5.

1940: Ole J Johnson 68, Olive Johnson 21, Marie Johnson 19, Lola Johnson 15.

Ole J Johnson died December 7, 1956 at Osage, Mitchell, Iowa and is buried at the Rock Creek Lutheran Church Cemetery, Meroa, Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa.
