Ole Johan Larssen Johnson was born March 31, 1872 at Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa to Lars Helgesen Johnson and Brita Eriksen, the youngest of their three children.

Ole had 2 sisters, Gunhild Jorging and Hanna Emelia and 4 half-sisters: Breta Helen, Estella, Clara Louise and Olive Adelia. Born on the family farm, attended the Dudley school and the Cedar Valley seminary. As he farmed, he bought land until he doubled the size of the original homestead.

Olive May (b May 2, 1918, married Raymond Borchardt, d September 4, 2007 Mason City, Cerro Gordo, Iowa);

Marie E(b Jan 2, 1921 Cedar, Mitchell, Iowa, d Oct 7, 2003 Osage, Mitchell, Iowa) and

Lola (b 1924, married Wilmer Brandau, d 2000).
