Ronald Kollman, age 81, of Osage, died Friday, February 14, 2014, at his home in Osage.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, February 18, 2014, at the First United Methodist Church in Osage with Pastor Sam Mack officiating. Burial will be in the Osage Cemetery with military honors at the grave by Osage American Legion Post 278. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Champion-Bucheit Funeral Home in Osage.

Ron was born January 20, 1933, in Osage, Iowa, to Edward and Katherine (Popp) Kollman. He graduated from Osage High School. Ron entered the U.S. Army in 1953 and served during the Korean Conflict and was later stationed in Japan. On October 30, 1954, he married Janyce Allstot at the First United Methodist Church in Osage. They moved to Arizona in 1963 and returned to Osage in 1975.

Ron worked in South Vietnam as a civilian contractor from 1968 to 1972. Over the years, he also worked for the family business Kollman Quarries, L.R. Falk, and the Mitchell County Secondary Roads Department. He was a member of the Osage American Legion. Ron enjoyed traveling, fishing, and time with his dog, Lady. He loved his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Ron is survived by his children, Charlotte (Clint) Carrison of Northwood, Teresa (Tracy) Kleckner of Osage, Anthony (Chris) Kollman of Abbottstown, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Jennifer Carrison (special friend, Matt Hoeft), Julie Carrison (special friend, Nate Weinkauf), Tara (Rob) Stangel, Tanya Kleckner, T.A. (Nicole) Kleckner, Kevin (Nikki) Kollman, Cheryl Kollman, and Nathan Kollman; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, LaVern Kollman of Osage; sister, Patricia Gribble of California; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Janyce Kollman in 2002; and his son, David Kollman in 2000.
