LAST OF PIONEER HARTWIG FAMILY SUCCUMBS

Funeral services were held at St. John's Lutheran church at Charles City, December 14, 1939 for Lewis F. Hartwig, 71, who succumbed at his home December 12 following a heart attack. He was a brother of the late Chris Hartwig and the last of the pioneer Hartwig family.

After retiring from the farm Mr. Hartwig lived in Charles City. As he never married, Mr. Hartwig leaves no immediate family.

Those from here who attended the funeral were: Mrs. Chris Hartwig, Mr. and Mrs. Mrs. Leo Hartwig, Mr. and Mrs. Paul Hartwig, Mr. and Mrs. C.C. Bless and Mr. and Mrs. Joe Groth.
