DIED IN MISSOURI

Funeral services for a native of Mitchell, Gordon H. Schulte, 71, were held on September 6, at a funeral chapel in Richland, Missouri. Mr. Schulte died on September 3, at the Ford Leonard Wood army hospital after a long illness.

Rev. R. Carter was in charge of the rites and burial was in Missouri. Military escorts were from Fort Leonard Wood and full military rites were conducted at the graveside.

Gordon Henry Schulte was born on May 12, 1900, in Mitchell, Iowa, the son of Bernard Julius and Sophia Gunderson Schulte. He was confirmed at Rock Creek Lutheran Church.

He enlisted in the army during World War I and remained in the services until July 1961. He was retired from White Sands, New Mexico. His foreign services included Europe, the Yukon and Korea. Since his retirement he has lived in Chicago and Richland, Missouri.

Surviving are his 94 year old mother, Mrs. Julia Schulte of Chicago; three sisters: Mrs. Gladys Marie Fallon of Chicago, Mrs. Lucille Dakin of Corona DelMar, California, Mrs. Ruth Martin of Simsbury, Connecticut; and two nephews.
